CitySSMRoad reconstruction is progressing for several City projects with 2015 completion dates.

RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:

Upton Road – Queen Street East to Wellington Street East

Reconstruction includes: storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, road, sidewalk, and property restoration. Road will be closed May to October – open to local traffic only.
General Contractor: Avery Construction

Huron Street – Queen Street West to Cathcart Street

Reconstruction includes: storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, road, sidewalk, and property restoration. Road will be closed June to October – open to local traffic only.
General Contractor: Palmer Construction Group

Elizabeth Street and McMeeken Street – Queen Street East to Churchill Boulevard

Reconstruction includes: storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, road, sidewalk, and property restoration. Road will be closed May to October – open to local traffic only.
General Contractor: Ellwood Robinson Limited

Fort Creek Aqueduct Construction – By-pass Aqueduct through Esposito Park

Reconstruction includes the construction of a new concrete aqueduct through Esposito Park and meeting John Street at Central Park Avenue. This work will also require the reconstruction of John Street from Queen Street West to Central Park Boulevard.
John Street will be closed June to October – open to local traffic only.
General Contractor: Avery Construction

Second Line Widening Phase 3 – Strathclair Fields Entrance to Black Road

This project includes the widening of Second Line to four lanes from the entrance of Strathclair Fields to Black Road. Two lanes of traffic (one in each direction) shall be maintained throughout the construction period. Motorists may experience delays and should exercise caution while travelling through the construction zone.

Commuters are reminded to obey signed detours and plan ahead for construction delays.
