(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services – Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division will mark National Paramedic Services Week; May 24 to 30, by recognizing the contribution of paramedics who respond to over 12,000 requests every year, providing life-saving treatment and transportation of residents in urban, rural and remote areas throughout the Sault Ste Marie District.
Paramedics are an integral part of the provincial health-care system and deliver a wide range of emergency medical services to people in times of crisis, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Services include 9-1-1 response, emergency care and patient transfers.
Follow @SaultFire on Wednesday May 27 to ‘ride along’ with a paramedic crew through social media as we post their actions throughout the day.
Paramedics are dedicated health professionals with exceptional expertise and through continuous training are always prepared to respond to the diverse situations they encounter.
It is important that we take time every day, not just during Paramedic Services Week, to appreciate the dedication and the life-saving work of our paramedics and the invaluable role they play in the health and wellbeing of our communities.
