This is such a cool idea, I wish I had thought of it!

Who woulda thunk it? The Danish, actually. Pollution particles are primarily made up of carbon, leading the Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde to the idea of compressing them into jewelry, in an eco-conscious nod to diamonds. The device he created to extract the pollution powder is called the Studio Roosegaarde’s Smog Free Tower, a 23-foot-tall air purification system intended to clean up the air in public spaces. On July 22, a Kickstarter was launched with the goal of $54,000 to build a prototype of the tower and as it is already well on its way to fulfillment, the first tower will be showcased in Rotterdam, Netherlands in September. After that, the goal is for it to travel around the world. (Popular Science)
