107 residents of Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas, including Wawa and Chapleau, will receive the Ontario Volunteer Service Award in a ceremony Wednesday evening for their dedication and continuous years of service to local organizations – sometimes up to 60 years.

Among this year’s recipients:

  • Sam Norbo, for 50 years with the Sault Area Hospital
  • John N. Dalrymple, for 40 years with Air Cadet League of Canada (OPC)
  • Norma Dalrymple, for 40 years with 155 Borden Grey GC Squadron Sponsoring Committee

 

Other organizations whose volunteers are being recognized include the Alzheimer Society, Rotary Club, Royal Canadian Legion, Sault Ste. Marie YMCA, and Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site.
