An overnight fire at a building on the southeast corner of Queen Street east and Gore Street housing apartment units resulted in the evacuation of the building and Deputy Fire Chief Paul Milosevich says two people were injured…


The injuries are considered non-life threatening according to a city police statement.
The building has apartments above and in the back and Milosevich say the tenants have been displaced for now as the investigation continues.
Milosevich says as part of procedure, the Red Cross is contacted when there is an evacuation…

The fire occured in one of the apartment units and the cause remains under investigation. That apartment unit had extensive damage.
Fire fighters responded to the call at around 2:30 this morning and it resulted in the closure of the Queen Street east area involving Gore and Tancred Streets as well as Bay Street for a time–the area was reopened to traffic earlier this morning.
