SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (DATE) – The Sault Area Hospital will be expanding local cardiac services thanks to community donations, including a $25,000 corporate contribution from Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life. The donation was presented by members of the local Freedom 55 Financial office, a division of London Life Insurance Company. The funds will help purchase new medical equipment and expand the range of cardiac procedures available locally so that patients can stay in Sault Ste. Marie for care.
“For families, having access to health care close to home can make a big difference, especially when it comes to urgent cardiac needs,” said Chris Schnarr, Regional Director, Freedom 55 Financial. “Our company has deep roots in our community and was proud to support the building of the Sault Area Hospital. With this donation, we’re pleased to continue our tradition of support so families receive the best care possible.”
Community donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation pay for essential medical equipment and the tools caregivers need to keep patients healthy. Community fundraising is a reality that every hospital in the province faces. Local dollars save local lives.
“The SAH Foundation Board and staff are most appreciative of the generous donation from Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life. This gift helps us provide the equipment required by our hospital’s dedicated physicians and staff to provide care to our loved ones close to home.” said Elaine Pitcher, Sault Area Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, Chair “With technology advances, and the ever increasing cost of equipment, gifts such as this are vital as SAH moves towards expanding cardiac services. This donation certainly shows the company cares, and that they support the need for strong local healthcare.”
