Sault Ste. Marie, ON (February 12, 2018) – The Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation (SSMEDC) took home a provincial award last week. The organization’s Millworks – Centre for Entrepreneurship won the 2017 Collaboration & Partnership Award from the Economic Development Council of Ontario in the Public-Private Partnership category.

“It’s great to see our community recognized on the provincial stage,” said Dan Hollingsworth, the SSMEDC’s Executive Director of Business Development. “The Millworks – Centre for Entrepreneurship is one of our priority projects, and it’s helping to support innovative small businesses here in Sault Ste. Marie. I thank our funding partners at all levels of government for making this project possible.”

Located in the Machine Shop at 83 Huron Street, the Millworks – Centre for Entrepreneurship features a small business incubator. The site is also home to the SSMEDC’s enterprise services programs and staff. Since the facility opened in May 2016, a number of companies have utilized the incubator, including: BonZa Global, NorthStar Consulting, Jeronamo Solutions, Possibilities Group, MBR Services, On Focus Now, UMG Media, B&E Automotive Technologies, and Diverse Computing.
