One in nine Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime – that’s over 25,000 Canadian women each year. The money raised will help the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation fund research that saves and improves the lives of women with breast cancer as well as provide support services to help all those affected by the disease. Thanks to investments made from the CIBC Run for the Cure, progress has been made in breast cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment and care, and have mortality rates have reduced by 44% since their peak in the mid 1980s. The CIBC Run for the Cure this October will mark CIBC’s 20th year as title sponsor of the event. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is grateful for their partnership.

Changemakers are people who have been touched by breast cancer and they feel compelled to honour their personal connection. They are driven to make a difference, putting their energy where it will count most. This year, being part of the CIBC Run for the Cure means you can be a “Changemaker” – by creating and sharing your own personalized fundraising campaign. People Run in support of their loved ones who have been touched by breast cancer. This year they can create a campaign in honour of that special person. Or, teams can create a campaign using their team photo and name! Once you register, you can log onto your Fundraising Centre to create your campaign.
