City Council will be asked tonight to approve the selection of Shelley Schell as the new Commissioner of Finance and Treasurer – totally ignoring the on-line petition launched by concerned citzen Mark Brown that the process be delayed until a new CAO is appointed first.   Brown had hoped to present his petition to members of council tonight but that application was denied by the agenda committee.   He has fired off another last minute letter to the Mayor this morning asking that the appointment be deferred and he be allowed to speak at tonight’s meeting.    Brown is also urging all those who signed and oppose the process to join him on the front steps prior to the 4:30 Council meeting.  He’ll be there around 3:00.
