DayOfMourningFight for the living and mourn for the dead.  That’s the message behind the National Day of Mourning.  April 28th has been recognized as the National Day of Mourning for more than two decades and will be recognized locally with a Commemorative Service at the Grand Gardens today at 11:00 a.m.  At that time, workers will be asked to observe a minute of silence and some flags will be flown at half-mast.  The day is used to remember workers who have been killed or injured on the job or became ill due to toxic exposures, along with friends and family who are affected by those events.
