SportsSault Ste. Marie’s Shaune Pine, 19, will join 7 other youth bowlers from across Canada as part of Canada’s youth bowling team which will head to Panama later this month to take part in the 2015 Pan American Bowling Confederation Youth Championships

The tournament, which features countries from the American Zone competing in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All-Events and match-play Masters, runs from June 27 through July 3 and will take place at Bolera Sede in Panama City.

Each year bowlers from all over the country come together at the Canadian National Championships for the chance to win a spot on Team Canada.  In 2014 Sault Ste. Marie’s own Shaune Pine competed against approximately 150 of Canada’s best bowlers to earn a spot on Team Canada’s Youth Team.

Shaune has been working towards this moment her whole junior bowling career.  Every accomplishment to this point has prepared Shaune for this day.  Competing in several Canadian National events and representing Canada at the Tournament of America’s in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2013 were stepping stones that led to this day.  Earning a spot on Team Canada is a great feat and she will represent Canada and Sault Ste. Marie well on this International stage.    As you can imagine travelling to Panama is costly and national funds to support the youth bowlers at this level is very limited.  Help Shaune fulfill her dream of competing in such a prestigious event!  Her and her family would greatly appreciate all your support.  Every donation helps, please make your donation at http://www.gofundme.com/weypj8
