Scott and Lou-Anne introduced a new temporary host on the KiSS Morning Show Friday. Scott Turnbull is headed to the Himalayas with Cat Stevens for an extended period (70s joke and probably fake news).  While he’s off, Lou-Anne Young will be share the mic with fill in host James Warner-Smith.

Scott and Lou-Anne welcomed James to the show this morning.

Warner-Smith was born and raised in the Sault Ste. Marie. He has spent his career on radio and television in Northern Ontario and Northern Michigan.  Sault Greyhounds fans know him for his singing of national anthems singer before games. He’s hosted local events including Canada Day at Bondar Pavilion, the Rotaryfest Main Stage and Soo Dance Unlimited and Sherry Walsh dance shows. He has been emcee at the Memorial Cup, OHL All-Star Game, Scotties Tournament of Hearts and the Tim Hortons Brier.

Through his career, Warner-Smith has broadcast from inside a block of ice for the Canadian Cancer Society. He sang the Russian national anthem before the Canada Russia Super Series at the Essar Centre on Sportsnet. He also broadcast blindfolded to raise awareness for the CNIB in the Sault.

Warner-Smith joined Rogers Media in 2003 on the KiSS Afternoon Show. He accepted a management position with Rogers in 2013 working across Northern Ontario and Winnipeg.

James is married to Alison (Jerrett) and they have children and grand children from Sudbury to Yellowknife.
