Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this evening the club has completed a deal with the Sudbury Wolves.
In the transaction the Greyhounds acquire 17-year old defenceman DREW WAWROW along with a a 5th Round Pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection (Sudbury’s) and 3rd Round Pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection (Mississauga’s) in exchange for 19-year old rearguard ANTHONY DEMEO.
“Anthony was part of some great years in Sault Ste. Marie and we want to thank him for his contributions over the past 3.5 seasons both on and off the ice” began Raftis in regards to the outgoing Hound.
“In acquiring Drew, we receive a young defenceman that is getting accustomed to the OHL, one we are excited to provide an opportunity to continue to reach his potential” he continued.
Originally selected in the 7th Round of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection by Sudbury, Wawrow played last season for the Toronto Titans Major Midget Hockey Club.
There he was a member of the GTHL Midget AAA All-Star game.
This season, Drew had appeared in 10 games with Sudbury.
