Sault Ste. Marie, ON (January 8, 2019) – Look mom, we’re on TV. Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma Country will be featured on the Weather Network’s national broadcast this week. The television station is filming segments here on Wednesday and will be airing them across the country on Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

A number of community and regional assets are slated to be featured, including Searchmont Resort, snowmobile trails, the new Clergue Park skating path, Group of Seven box car and interpretive panel at the Machine Shop, Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site, Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, and fat bike trails at Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site. The segments will also include interviews at each location with local citizens and officials.

This promotional initiative was generated by Ontario Travel, in partnership with Tourism Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association (Algoma Country). The organizations joined forces to facilitate a significant tourism marketing opportunity for the city and district.

“We’re very excited to be promoting our community and region on the national stage,” said Lindsey Ackland, Coordinator of Visitor & Media Relations for Tourism Sault Ste. Marie. “Our city and area feature a number of tourism assets, and the Weather Network is a great conduit to market these attractions across the country. I thank our partners at Ontario Travel and Algoma Country for making this opportunity possible.”
