City council has said yes to pot stores for Sault Ste. Marie.
The new city council last night accepted a recommendation from the City’s CAO Al Horseman not to opt out of provincially licenced retail stores in the Sault.
Council has further accepted a recommendation from city legal staff that would amend a city by-law and would treat the consumption of cannabis and e-cigarettes in the same manner as tobacco.
It would also add a provision that prohibits the smoking or other consumption of tobacco, cannabis and e-cigarettes in any public park within city limits.
Council also approved a further amendment which would also restrict those products from the Rowswell Hub Trail.
