Sault Ste. Marie Police Service news release…
On May 16th, 2019 officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a call for service in relation to an incident in the 100 block of James Street.
During the mid-morning hours of May 16th, 2019 three accused and a fourth suspect entered a residence of a person known to them in the 100 block of James Street. Once inside the victim was attacked and is now in hospital with life threatening injuries.
As a result of the ongoing investigation officers arrested 37 year old Sarah Mergaert of James Street, 34 year old Jarrett Jocko of Andrew Street and 29 year old Gilbert Ryan Wilson of Gilles Street. All of the accused are charged with the following;
Attempted Murder
Assault with a Weapon
Weapons Dangerous
Unlawfully in a Dwelling
Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are actively looking for a fourth suspect, 29 year old James Bolan. He is wanted for attempted murder, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and unlawfully in a dwelling.
Mr. Bolan is considered dangerous and police urge the public not to approach him. If you see him, police ask the public to please call 911 immediately.
All three of the accused were held for bail court.

On May 18th, 2019 officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29 year old James Bolan for attempted murder.
As part of an ongoing investigation into an incident that took place on James Street on May 16th, 2019 police located the accused in the early morning hours of May 18th, 2019 and took him into custody.
He is charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of weapons dangerous and one count of unlawfully in a dwelling.
He was held for bail court.
