SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (July 4, 2019) – There are even more reasons to go paperless thanks to a new campaign that not only gives customers a chance to win bill credits, but each signup means a donation by PUC Services to a local youth nutrition program.
Starting in July, PUC Services will be donating $5.00 to the Algoma Family Services Student Nutrition Program for each customer that signs up for e-billing. In addition to supporting healthy development for children, customers that sign up for e-billing will also be entered to win one of nine $200 bill credits to be used towards their PUC bill. The campaign will run for a total of 9 weeks, with the last draw taking place August 30th.
“We encourage every customer to sign up for e-billing for their chance to win a $200 PUC bill credit and help PUC reach our goal of a $10,000 donation to the Student Nutrition Program,” said Giordan Zin, Manager of Customer Engagement and Corporate Communications. “For those customers already taking advantage of e-billing – no action is required, you’ll be automatically entered into the draw.”
The Student Nutrition Program supports breakfast, lunch, or snack programs in schools to help students achieve optimal health, growth, and intellectual development. In Sault Ste. Marie, the Student Nutrition Program, has served more than 535,000 meals to approximately 3,500 students in the 2018/2019 school year. Student Nutrition programs are run by dedicated school staff, parent and community volunteers.
“We’ve heard from participating schools that, their students have learned to make healthy choices that positively impact their day,” says, Emily Tremblay, Community Services Supervisor from Algoma Family Services. “The student nutrition program enables students to eat, learn and succeed.” For more information on the Student Nutrition Program, please visit their website at www.studentnutritionontario.ca
