SAULT STE. MARIE – Local activist and journalist Sara McCleary will be officially nominated as the NDP candidate in Sault Ste. Marie for the 2019 federal election during a nomination meeting taking place on Wednesday, July 19.

“Families in Sault Ste. Marie and all across Canada are suffering from the choices that successive Liberal and Conservative governments have made, designed only to benefit the richest people and corporations instead of ordinary people,” said McCleary. “It’s clear that we must do something to get our country back on track. That’s why I’m proud and honoured to represent the NDP in Sault Ste. Marie and turn into reality our party’s vision of a country that works for ordinary, hard-working people – not just those at the very top.”

The nomination meeting will take place in the Tony Martin Community Hall at the Soup Kitchen Community Centre (172 James Street) on Wednesday, July 17. Registration will open at 6:30pm and the meeting will begin at 7:00 pm. The meeting is open to all members of the public.
