The unemployment rate for Sault Ste. Marie remained in the double digits for a third straight month.
The Stats Canada numbers for last month shows the unemployment rate coming in at 11.3%—more than double the year ago rate of 5.2%.
The rate thus far for the year has ranged from as low as 4.4% to as high as the current rate of 11.3%.
The participation rate rose 1% to 64.1% while the employment rate dropped 3% to 56.8%.
