The Cougars struck early in the contest with a goal 75 seconds into the game as a shot from Mispon Martin got through Davenport’s goalie Dayna Templeton. The rest of the first period featured a heavy dose of stops from Cougars goalie Jenelle Manitowabi stopping 16 shots in the first frame.
