Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced today the team has completed a trade with the Kingston Frontenacs which sees overage goaltender BAILEY BRKIN join the Hounds.
In exchange, Kingston receives OA goaltender Christian Propp along with a 13th Round Selection (Soo’s) in 2023 OHL Priority Selection.
Brkin, a native of Sherwood Park AB, has spent the past three seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Kootenay Ice, Spokane Chiefs and Moose Jaw Warriors.
He was claimed off waivers by Kingston earlier today, after clearing WHL waivers.
Most recently, Bailey appeared in 13 games this season (2019-20) for the Moose Jaw Warriors where he compiled a win/loss record of 6-6-1-0, to go along with a 3.81 GAA and .889 SV%.
Last season (2018-19) he suited up in 45 regular season games for the Spokane Chiefs accumulating a 27-11-1-2 record, to go with a 2.75 GAA and .914 SV% and two shutouts.
Overall he has appeared in 89 WHL regular season WHL games and 18 post-season contests (10-6-1-0, 2.73 GAA, .917 SV%)
