Cornavirus or not, the show must go on!
Some people work from home, but when your job is singing, you perform from home! John Legend performed a concert from his living room and live streamed it on Instagram in support of everyone practicing social distancing and staying home during the Coronavirus pandemic. John wasn’t the first celeb to start performing from home, it actually all started with Chris Martin from Coldplay.
As everyone’s getting comfy cozy at home in these crazy times, Chris Martin had an idea that might help lift everyone’s spirits. He wanted to start a movement called: #TogetherAtHome where artists perform from home and stream mini concerts online. Chris is a curator of Global Citizen Festival, so they quickly jumped on board to support the online concert series along with the World Health Organization.

So how did he start this movement…with a tweet of course:

In his own live stream he said, “So I thought, what would be nice, would be to check in with some of you out there and see how you’re doing, and where you are, and what I can do for you.”  Chris, took requests from the fans on live stream and talked about some of his favourite songs

When John Legend heard of Chris Martin’s idea, he wanted to get involved right away!

John serenaded us with his song Stay With You from his first album Get Lifted. The Grammy Award winner took requests from his fans and was joined by his wife Chrissy Teigen for some story telling about the beginning of their relationship.

As John’s concert from home wrapped up, he and Chrissy encouraged everyone to support all those who are still working out there and trying to run their local businesses. Chrissy shared her conversation with a local restaurant, and how thrilled they were to still be able to take orders.

Other artists have also jumped on the movement of #TogetherAtHome including Keith Urban, who went live on Instagram with his wife Nicole Kidman, calling her his, “audience of one”.

P!NK also was trying to make the best of times at home by teaching herself how to play piano. She showed off her new skills during her at home concert while performing Bob Dylan’s classic ballad Make You Feel My Love.
