Despite not having a live telethon last weekend, tens of thousands of dollars was raised for Easter Seals here in Sault Ste. Marie.
Over 46-thousand dollars was brought in from online and call in pledges on Sunday and an additional over 84-hundred dollars was raised through the inaugural Easter Seals Telethon 50-50 draw.
The live telethon was cancelled for the first time in 37-years.
Last year, over 102-thousand dollars was raised during the telethon.
Funds raised go to support Easter Seals families who are faced with huge financial costs for equipment to assist with mobility and other issues for local children with physical disabilities.
