Sault Ste. Marie, ON- In partnership with the City of Sault Ste. Marie, the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre and Algoma Public Health launched an online hub featuring local COVID-19 resources and a map displaying a summary of services for facilities in the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma region.

Supported by the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre’s Acorn Information Solutions division, the website identifies locations that are open, lists their contact information and hours of operation, as well as flags any restrictions or service limitations that are in place to protect community health (e.g. noting senior citizen hours, facilities operating only by phone appointments, etc.). Facilities that are shown on the website include:

Grocery stores

Pharmacies

Banks

Primary Care Centres

Food Banks, Meals on Wheels, Serving Kitchens

Municipal offices

COVID-19 Assessment Centres

The Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma Region Response Hub website also features third party resources tracking COVID-19 cases, other local updates, and reliable information regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus.

“This HUB is a great resource for all 21 communities in the Algoma region. Many partners came together across the district, including all Community Emergency Management Coordinators to help put this site together,” said Nicole Lindahl, Public Health Inspector and Emergency Management Coordinator for the Algoma district at Algoma Public Health.

Essential businesses that fit within the categories mentioned above that would like to add their information to the website can do so by filling out a request form located on the website.
