Sault based Bioforest Technologies has been acquired by Canadian company Lallemand.  Lallemand is described as a leading developer, producer and marketer of yeast and bacteria and is also active in plant health care for forestry, agriculture, horticulture and turf management.  Bioforest has more than 20-years experience in forest pest management and in collaboration with the Canadian Forest Service research centre in the Sault developed TreeAzin.  TreeAzin is widely used in Canada and the United States for controlling the emerald ash borer and other insect pests.  Bioforest has 25 employees and a company statement says the acquisition will provide the company with greater research and development capabilities and access to a global network of expertise.
