All three key categories measuring the Sault’s labour market showed improvement last month in the latest data released by Stats Canada.
The Sault’s unemployment rate dropped from the year ago rate of 7.3% to 5.6%.
The participation rate which measures both the number of employed combined with those unemployed but actively looking for work rose 2.5% to 55.9% and the employment rate increased over 3% to 52.9%.
A year ago, the employment rate was under 50%.
The number of people employed last month was 35-thousand-200.
