SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – November 19, 2019 – A small gesture can go a long way. The Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics were contacted by PetSmart Store Manager, Hillery Edwards, offering to donate over two-hundred (200) stuffed animals to the service. The toys will be distributed to children by Paramedics in the course of their duties.

Paramedics often give stuffed animals to children who are involved in traumatic occurrence or that are experiencing trying situations. “I am both pleased and proud to be able to help out the emergency service with the donation,” said Edwards.

“These toys are extremely helpful in comforting children who are experiencing challenging circumstances when they or one of their loved ones are ill or injured”, said Paul Guertin, acting Deputy Chief of Operations.

“We are very grateful to PetSmart for this donation. Each year we thankfully receive a quantity of stuffed animals from Shaw Communications and these additional toys from PetSmart will help us to ensure that we have a good number on hand for quite some time”, Guertin added.
