Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2020 10 07) – The City of Sault Ste. Marie reminds residents of schedule changes for the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, October 12, 2020.

 

The following facilities and services are closed Monday, October 12:

  • Cemetery office
  • City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
  • Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site
  • GFL Memorial Gardens office and Box Office
  • John Rhodes Community Centre Arenas
  • John Rhodes Community Centre Pool
  • Northern Community Centre
  • Public Libraries
  • Public Works office. For 24-hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201.
  • Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre
  • Seniors Drop In Centre and the Northern Community Centre Seniors 55+

 

Garbage and Recycling Collection

There is no garbage, leaf and yard waste or recycling pickup on Monday, October 12. Collection will be one day late following the holiday.

  • Leaf and Yard Waste is collected on your scheduled garbage day bi-weekly. The final two weeks of leaf and yard waste collection are weather permitting (November 9 and 16).   • The Household Hazardous Waste Depot will close for the season on October 24, 2020
  • The Landfill will close on Saturdays for the season on October 24, 2020.

 

The following facilities and services are open Monday, October 12:

  • Bellevue Marina – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will then close for the season.
  • The Sault Ste. Marie Parks Canada Lock will be open from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. until October 15 and will then close for the season.
  • Sault Parabus: call 705-942-1404 for bookings.

 

Under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, the government of Ontario’s ban on gatherings of more than ten people inside and twenty-five outside is still in effect until further notice. Everyone is reminded to wear face coverings, practice physically distancing of at least two meters apart from others at all times, do not have close contact with those outside of your immediate household and avoid non-essential travel if possible.
